Greetings users. This blog was created so that visitors can track the progress on the new V.A. G.I. Bill website. There are many new features in store and your feedback will prove valuable. As the site is being built, it is hoped that you'll be able to add input in things you would like to see done, improved on or added.
Number One Problem - Navigation
Building a website takes time, skill and money. It also takes a strong architecture who can give guidance and direction. However, one person alone can't do the job. That's where you step in. The first thing I've decided to take on is to fix the navigation issues that plague the old site. I want the new site to be easy and simple to navigate through.
Each city listed is a link in which the user can click and see the colleges for the given area. But before the user clicks on it, he/she can see how much one would get for a living allowance for that city. This is very important because everybody has a different budget and the amount paid is the deciding factor for many potential students.
As you can see, this is a huge improvement over the current form of just a unorganized list of everything the State offers.
What's being done to fix it
Below is a prototype page of being able to search for colleges accordingly to a State's cities.![]() |
| Cities per given State. Users can also save a city for further consideration. |
